Training Initiatives
The main priority here is to support a project that identifies
the overall skills and training gaps and makes recommendations for
training providers across Wales.
CCW has funded a number of organisations that deliver targeted
training programmes for countryside mangers. CCW will continue to
consider its contribution to these programmes on a case by case
basis. This will not be a significant proportion of its grant
support. The principles outlined in “Building Capacity” also apply
here.
Awareness Raising for Sustainable Living
These are Grants for organisations seeking to raise awareness of
environmental issues and living within environmental limits.
Examples could be organisations providing advice on energy
efficiency and renewable energy, or green infrastructure approaches
to construction where buildings are planned to work in the context
of the ecosystem services in the area.
Taking forward the WAG Sustainable Development Scheme, grants
will also be offered for projects demonstrating the links between
natural heritage and health and tacking social exclusion through
community projects linked to management of the local environment,
such as community forestry.
