How to obtain a grant
Our grant aid is always in high demand, which
is good news for the environment as it means lots of organisations
want to deliver worthwhile projects. Below you will find details of
our grant procedures.
Applying for a grant
We ask organisations to submit an expression of interest for the
following financial year by completing an indicative bid form which
can be found at the bottom of this page. This helps us prioritise
the distribution of our grant resources and build a picture of the
demand and scope for grants. These expressions of interest must
contain grant project ideas based on the grant categories as set
out in the 'What we fund' section.
The window for indicative bid applications this year is 14th
September to 23rd October 2009
Once our budgets have been agreed, usually in February, grant
applications are invited from those organisations whose project
ideas match the work programme that we want to develop for the
following year. Grant applications are normally submitted to us by
May each year.
Making grant offers
We aim to make grant offers as early as possible each year, so
that projects can be delivered right throughout the year.
You will be assigned a grant project officer who will act as
your contact at any stage in the grant process.
Claiming grant payments
We usually make grant payments in instalments, known as “interim
claims” and “final claims”. We can make some payments in advance to
voluntary bodies if they demonstrate a need for money upfront.
CCW reserves the right to request access to and inspect any
documents from the grant recipient to support their claims for
grant.
Monitoring and Evaluation Plans
To make an interim claim, you will need to demonstrate
sufficient progress towards the completion of the project. To make
a final claim, you will need to demonstrate that all the work has
been completed.
To prevent any confusion, your grant project officer will agree
with you before the start of the project as to when you will submit
a claim, and what level of information will be required at that
stage in the process. This will be your “Monitoring and Evaluation
plan” and will be approved as conditional to your grant offer.
Reporting
CCW will ask that you provide the information in a particular
format, so that we can collate information about similar projects
happening across Wales. This will help us report on how our grant
aid has been spent nationally. We will ensure with you that any
requests for information will be reasonable and associated directly
to the project.
