CCW welcomes new Chairman
The Countryside Council for Wales is delighted
that Morgan Parry has been appointed as its new Chairman to serve a
three year term.
On the challenges ahead, Morgan Parry commented: “There are more
pressures than ever on the environment and an increasing awareness
that nature is not an infinite source of products and services. It
is now more important than ever that environmental considerations
are taken into account in all areas of decision making and by
people in all walks of life.
“CCW has a huge, ongoing task of getting our natural environment
into good shape. We cannot do this alone – it is crucial that CCW
galvanises wide support for its work. I’m looking forward to
engaging with a huge range of people and organisations to work with
us.”
Roger Thomas, CCW Chief Executive said: “Morgan has a wealth of
experience in the voluntary and public sector - and a global
perspective following many years working with the World Wildlife
Fund. He will be able to build from the achievements of our
outgoing chairman as we face the environmental challenges ahead,
injecting his energy and perspective in guiding CCW's work.”
Current chairman John Lloyd Jones welcomed Morgan Parry's
appointment. 'Morgan Parry brings valuable experience, particularly
from local government and the voluntary sector, into CCW and I will
leave the organisation confident that it is in safe hands for the
challenging times ahead'.
