Communities and Nature

These pages describe the Communities and Nature (CAN) project – a strategic project to be funded under Priority 4 Theme 3 ‘Environment for Growth’ of the Convergence Programme for West Wales and the Valleys 2007 – 2013

At the moment the project is at the developmental stage – therefore much of the information here will be relevant for a short period only. These page will be updated regularly to reflect the progess of development.

What is CAN?

Communities and Nature (CAN), to be co-ordinated by CCW, is one of the strategic projects being put forward to deliver the Environment for Growth (Priority 4, Theme 3) of the Convergence Programme.

Procurement

All activities under Communities and Nature will be procured directly via Sell2Wales, except for CCW’s own activities.

CCW’s joint sponsor, Environment Agency Wales, will also be carrying out procurement via Sell2Wales under the banner of Wild Fishing Wales.

Wild Fishing Wales

This is the project that our joint sponsor, the Environment Agency, will be delivering under CAN

The £19m Heritage Tourism Project will maximise the economic value of heritage through increasing the volume, length and value of visits to Wales.

The Valleys Regional Park project is going to develop, expand and enhance the unique tourism potential of the south Wales valleys.
