Details of the key and legend of the countryside access map

Access land

CROW Access land - created by the Countryside & Rights of Way Act 2000 which includes open country, common land and public forests.

Crow Access Land

Land with other rights of Access - Section 15 of the CROW Act which includes urban commons and commons with deeds for access, land under the 1899 Commons Act and land under a Local or Private Act.

Permissive Access land – This Includes Tir Gofal agreement, which give access to specified parts of the farm, National Trust land and National Park access agreements and means that the landowner or tenant of the land, has agreed to allow public access for open-air recreation, normally on foot.

Exclusions or restrictions - to CROW Access land

(Public Rights of Way are not affected by any restrictions that might be in force on CROW access land)

The right of access is excluded, which means that you are not allowed on the land while the exclusion is in place.
