Protection policy – biodiversity plans
The UK Biodiversity Action Plan guides
the protection of particular species in the UK. This can
mean last ditch attempts to save species from extinction or
managing those we have in a more sensitive way.
Species Action Plans concentrate on the species that need most
help. Targets are updated and broken down into country level
targets.
There are Local Biodiversity Action Plans too. In Wales, we hope
to provide selected species targets for all of them.
A further review of priority species should lead to further
revisions and new lists in 2007.

reports and links to all the organisations involved in the project
