List of terms used in Countryside Council for
Wales documents and publications
The Countryside Council for Wales uses a wide range of
terminology and Latin names within documents and
publications. It is not always straight forward in finding a
translation for them.
To make things easy for external translators/writers in keeping
a consistency in their work for CCW and to help students and the
public in their search for knowledge, we have produced lists
separated into 4 groups:-
General CCW Terminology - giving translation
for such things as Habitats, CROW Act, environment, sea and coast
and conservation.
The remaining 3 groups
- Vertebrates
- Moths and Butterflies
- Plants
are lists of species provided by ‘Cymdeithas Edward Llwyd’.
These lists also include the Latin names.
